You will be responsible for coming up with a monthly lesson plan which you must follow; you will be expected to teach. Our school is in session three days a week for five hours a day during the school year, so this is a part-time job. There will be work required outside school hours sometimes.

This job requires that you have a bachelor’s degree of some type (education degree preferred but not required); prior experience working with children in some capacity is definitely required.

Want to make a difference in young families’ lives? CARD Early Head Start seeks an early childhood classroom professional to work with expectant to age 3 & families in Broken Arrow; Bilingual Spanish/English skills are a plus. Educators work in a classroom environment with a co-teacher, and are responsible for all aspects of classroom planning, including group planning and individual lesson plans. Class size is 8 children; environment is warm, nurturing and caring. Educators also conduct parent conferences and home visits for each family (4x yearly). EHS is a comprehensive child development program offering a wide array of services to families.

Educational Requirements: The ideal candidate will hold Child Development Associate (CDA) or better. A combination of skills and education may also suffice, such as a AA degree with coursework in child development and experience in working with infants and toddlers in group care may substitute. A Certificate of Mastery fulfills the CDA requirement.

This is a full time position (40 hours a week, full year). A full benefits package is offered (medical, dental, paid leave, educational, etc.). Childcare for one’s own child is not a covered benefit. (EHS is a federally-funded program and has specific participation requirements; employees or potential employees who are interested in applying are invited to do so but no guarantee is made regarding program enrollment.)
